Oblivion | Book Publishing
A project illustrating Alice Munro's short story, 'The Bear Came Over the Mountain', about a woman that is developing dementia. I chose to use abstract shapes and mark - making to convey dementia; the mark - making becomes more haphazard towards the end to convey a deteriorating mental state. The text also becomes more haphazard, as it fades and falls out of line. This project has been shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards 2022, Category: Commercial Publishing, New Talent. |
